Reliant Kitten parts wanted

Post by AJL Electronics » Thu Aug 21, 2014 9:52 am

I want to convert from moulded door cards to flat panels, so that I can fit alternative seats. To be able to do the conversion, I need the door caps. Anyone got a pair cheap? Otherwise, what seats will fit the gap? Originals are about 450fm (funny money) wide. Cobra Clubmans fit well at 500 funny money but not with the moulded door cards.

It would also be nice to find a set of 12" Minilite wheels at under £100. I have 5j x 10" KN Gemini wheels currently which would then be for sale.

I would speak to Chgperformance?

He's likely to have something for you, or at least be able to source some.

I don't think I have any of the steel door caps unfortunately.

For seats SE6 ones fit nicely!

I do indeed have a pair of NOS door card top caps. Drop me a pm if you want :) I'm virtually in the land of the living again. Now on 100mg morphine twice a day plus 10mg every four hours if needed! Rediculous I know! Oh and Gabapentin on top of that!

if se6 seats fit, se5a should fit even better, no? Reason I ask is I just bought one without interior, but not too bothered as just want 2 seats on it and have a couple of se5a ones spare... :)
also need to source a engine and gearbox (cheap and running would be great).

Not sure - my 6 ones fitted perfectly, picking up on two of the original holes but needing two more moving (the outer ones towards the door). I also have a nylon spacer under each of the front bolts.

Besides plugging these two holes and drilling two more they bolt directly in and onto the same steelwork as before. I doubt the 5 ones share the same bolt pattern but being small should fit fine.

That's good... Or might just go the direction I was considering before and try some mx5 seats, they are used in hot rods for being narrow, so they might fit also...

there might be other options for narrow seats. Bought the wife a Rover Streetwise (same as rover 25) and the seats on it seem really narrow and very comfortable, so it might be another option...
