SE6a Window Rubber Profile

Post by Jc29cdo » Fri Aug 17, 2018 8:53 am

Hi guys,

Just exploring options to replace the window rubbers (all round - windscreen, sides, quarters and rear) on my new SE6a. I have been reading through previous posts and have seen the struggles of others trying to fit replication rubbers at what I consider a huge cost (£98 for a rear quarter  ).

Has anyone got a cut through profile shot of the rubbers for a SE6a including dimensions? I work of an oil and gas company and we often have to get custom made gaskets/seals/o rings made with a myriad of profiles. If I get a set of drawings/pictures of the profile I may be able to get these cut in house.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can anyone assist with the request above? Am looking at replacing my window seals but hoping to avoid the huge costs.....

The SE6 windscreen rubber is a bit of an oddball profile (the glass is larger than the hole) - sort of "z" shaped. An alternative is possibly bonding the screen in: http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/view ... en#p429543
Obviously not the intended way to fit one, but it seems to work. Drew also took an alternative approach to the rear side windows too: http://www.scimitarweb.co.uk/sgwrs/view ... ng#p400908

I’m also oil and gas and going offshore today.
I’m back on the 23rd
Having replaced my windscreen about 2 months ago I may have a scrap piece left over which I can photo / send you.
Drop me a line after the 23rd and I’ll have a look
