Se6a wiper box access

Post by Bikergonebald » Fri Feb 02, 2018 9:10 am

I've read the how to article on refurbishing the front wiper system but that shows an access hatch under the scuttle panel. My car doesn't have this so how do I get to them?

If I can't get them out can I just pull the operating cable out and feed a new one back in? I would have to take the wiper arms off first to allow the spindles to spin.

Yes you can just take the wipers off, then pull out the cable. I have just done that a few weeks ago. It's a good idea , when the cable is out, to turn the spindles 180 degrees so that the new cable will run on an unworn part of the wheels. As for an access panel, I can't answer that one except to point out that access to the boxes is from the inside, behind the dashboard, with the glove compartment removed. HTH. :)

There’s some info hidden in another sticky about wheelboxes here?
