Not sure, Mark..have you got any Ad Blockers running per chance? I think the original pictures were hosted on his Google Drive judging by the link. I just did screenshots and added them as attachments (I'm finding it much easier).

No ad blockers running, am using google mail and IE.
All I get is a small black square with a cross in it and "image" to the right.
Also tried looking through google+ but nothing shows.

I can see the screenshot you posted and the mirrors are original Ford type.

I couldn't see them on the work computer and still can't on the iphone/ipad (safari) but I can on the laptop (chrome with adblocker running).

IE might be your problem, Mark.

They've been visible for me in Chrome - not tried Safari today.

Se6a remote mirror adjustment

Post by Roger Pennington » Wed Jan 31, 2018 7:33 pm

I can't see the images either in IE (without adblocker) or Firefox (with adblocker). I have a Gmail/google plus account and tried going into there and using the url from the post, and nothing came up? So I'm as bewildered as anyone.....

Anyway, looking at your screenprints, Phil, that as Mark says, is the standard Se6a drivers side mirror.
However I thought it was the nearside mirror which was causing more trouble than the offside? Most (or many, at least) Se6a with the standard chrome mirror didn't have a nearside mirror (the Yellow Peril is like that) so it would be interesting to see the nearside mirror too, to check what type is fitted?

Se6a remote mirror adjustment

Roger, having looked back at the original post it would appear Kevin has the Standard FORD type fitted to both doors,
I know there was always a problem with them on the Pass side due to the holes being drilled to make the mirrors sit Equally on both sides.
But the Pass mirror adjustment was not enough because it was designed for a LH driver sitting closer to it, so when the RH driver sat in the further away seat it became nearly useless.

I had to alter the Pass mirrors on both my GTC`s.
Which also meant slotting the mounting holes to get enough viewing area.

OK. So if I understand correctly there's not likely to be somethung as simple as a cable adjuster and I might need to be inventive.
I might investigate fixing another piece of glass on top with uneven spacers to give it a different angle. It will need closer inspection though.

Has anyone fitted an alternative mirror that works and looks OK?

Kevin the "famous" XJS mirrors are a favourite, not my cup o t tho.
I think they look OTT and don't sit just as they should.

If the glass mountings are not loose then there is no other adjustment available other than altering the glass as you suggest, OR slot the holes in the doors and twist the whole unit.

But yours already look to be in the correct position.
