GTC hardtop fixings

GTC Hardtop
Can anyone help with some photos of the fixing method at the rear of the hardtop.
I have just removed the hardtop for the first time since buying the GTC and find it difficult to believe that the hard top was held on by just the two fixing to the front windscreen. I am sure that there must be some fixings at the rear but there are none visible.
Any help much appreciated.

From the parts book -

Part 15 is a hook which goes into bracket 39 on the body and is fixed by the thumbscrew. My one has a slightly different arrangement, the hook has a thread on the top and a wingnut which can pull the whole thing down tight on to the body.

Two clips at the front, two brackets on the B posts and two at the rear.

Many thanks Alex and Jim. With the photos and explanations all is becoming much clearer. I will take another look at mine tomorrow and see if the body clips are there. There were some bits and bobs in the glove box which may be the parts I am looking for.

Just so you know what to look for the brackets for the B post are 17 and 18 on the drawing. The flat plates are screwed to the inside of the front of the hardtop and pull it against the b post.

I have taken a photo of what I found loose in the car. It looks as though I only have one of each plus another plate of some kind.

Think the long plate goes on the transmission tunnel beside the front seat, should be one each side. No idea what they're for though!!

The rear fixings are in the centre of the above picture.

I Have been thinking about re manufacturing these in stainless rather than the plastic coated originals.

IF I can get enough interest I may make some??.

Mark

The Right hand plate looks like one of the clamping plates that are used to retain the carpet at the transmission tunnel and inside the centre cubby hole, they were used to spread the effort on retaining things, sometimes used at the bottom of the rear seat too.

GTC hardtop fixings

Just noticed that I appear to have lost a rear hard top bracket. I can only assume it came loose and has fallen out of the car due to the gap when driving down the motorway. Mark did you manage to have any re-manufactured?
