Dashboard switch bulb Spring clips attachments.

Has anyone came up with a better way of attaching the electrical dashboard switches light bulb holders, instead of using the spring clips which sit on the top of the switches behind the dash centre panel?
Thank you for your help.
Kevin.

I think there was some discussion of using LED lights, which wouldn't have such heat problems, and could therefore be embedded in the switch, but I'm not sure if anyone had actually done it? Maybe Andy (AJLelectronics) did?
