Having trouble renewing my membership

Post by 512b » Thu Jan 04, 2018 12:45 pm

Hi guys
I have logged in to the website, and the systems recognises me quite happily.
I go the shop to renew my membership and when i add it to my cart and go to pay, it asks me to log in again. When i do, it tells me i am not know by the email/password combination i have entered, yet the main website has already logged me in?

I have checked the email address, and I have changed the password this morning to be sure.
I am getting very frustrated now, so i am going off for a soothing peppermint tea before trying again.

In the meantime, if anyone has the answer, do let me know :)

Cheers
Gary

The Shop uses a different security system, hence the requirement to log in separately. Login there is by email address and password (unlike the main site which is by username and password). Despite the seamless integration between the two they are deliberately separate to maintain security of your personal data.

The Shop account may not be the same email address as you use for the forum/main website - as the two are not linked. If you've renewed via the Shop in the past, you will have had a receipt to the email address associated with your account - it is possible to check back in your email 12 months?

If you're still having problems, then Andy & Ann run the Shop section - merchandise@rssoc.co.uk and they will be able to sort you out - or call/email John @ Club HQ and set up a Direct Debit?

Were you a bit late renewing last year?

I’ve only got limited access to the membership database but it agrees with your card - expiry 31/12/17

As Jim said - drop John an email if in doubt.
