V3.2 problems

Post by scimjim » Thu Aug 10, 2017 10:33 pm

Notifications have a "mark all as read" button on the dropdown (before you go to "see all"). If you go to the "see all" page, you need to "mark all" at the bottom of the page, then "mark read".

Not sure about the PM that was there, then not there - I think I confused a notification with a PM initially but if you had both icons red, you wouldn't do that?

V3.2 problems

Post by Roger Pennington » Thu Aug 10, 2017 11:28 pm

One thing I've noticed is this. I get notifications for PMs. That means that when a PM arrives, I get a red "PM indicator" and a red "Notification ind.". If I click on the PM link, it takes me to my inbox, and I read the PM. Then when I return to the index page, the PM indicator has disappeared (because I've read the PM) but the notification of the PM stays in force, with a red indicator, until I go in and mark it as read, as a separate action. So it appears that PMs you've read, may still be showing up as though they were new, in your notification list.

(not sure if it's directly relevant to Peter's problem, but it's certainly a little confusing )

Yes, I've turned all notifications off except reported posts. No need for PM notification on the front page if the icons are next to each other :-)

V3.2 problems

New point

I'm struggling to find the solution to this issue
For the life of me I can't see how to send a PM now on the new restyled site when using a mobile device
Am I missing something ?
I tap on a user name and some have the facility (just found it) and others don't so I guess it's a personal setting with the receiver

Blessed are the Cheese makers

Better to be an hour early than 1 minute late

Receiving PMs is an optional feature.

Never try and argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level, then beat you based on experience.
