Hmmmm, it would seem that Photobucket have updated their terms and conditions as of 27/6/17 and now you have to pay for "third party hosting". That means all my photo links to the forum are broken until I stump up.

As I am not prepared to pay $399 per annum can anyone suggest a good alternative host?

You may have exceeded your monthly limit Will. There's a data download limit.

this is all over the net - PB seem to be holding people to ransom demanding $400 to release your photos (which of course they own under the T&Cs you agree to). Not sure why it's only affecting certain people - perhaps it's different accounts?

I don't seem to be having a problem, I wonder why some people are effected and some aren't?

Photobucket can go forth if they are playing that game. If it had been a reasonable amount I might have paid it but £300 for the privilege, no thanks.

Never PB used myself Will - I always reduce the photo sizes and upload them to the site. Never used the cloud either - keep them in house is my rule.

Quite right Peter, I wouldn't put up anything I didn't want to be freely available for copying but up until now I have never had a problem with PB.

I meant to ask, are they 14" Woolfies on your car?

My MB wheels have winter tyres on ( came with the car ) so I fit 7x14 wolfs for the summer. Glynis prefers the look of wolfs to MB wheels anyway.

What tyre size are you running?

Well that settles it ... I am leaving them too !
Over the past months the service has been getting worse - uploading time incredibly long, crashes -
while at the same time the ads also increased - popups all over the place almost every 30 seconds  -
I could live with that considering that the service was "free" - hence the ads - ... but there's no way paying
such a ridiculous price just to go ad-free and being allowed to simply "keep running" as before ...

Fortunately there's nothing vital there ... all pics were scaled-down copies just to be posted on forums,
all the originals are on my PC + backups
Yet another proof if needed that I should stay away from cloud hosting

Now hunting for an alternate site

Cheers,
Fred

Surely a 2TB external HDD for approx £70 is a good bet
I have 2 for films and a couple spare
One would hold a lot of full size pictures

Might not help when it comes to hosting them on a forum or website though?

Mine are working at the moment - I guess it's only a matter of time before they stop working though :(
