Scimaritans Gloucester to Wrexham for fuel tank.

Post by AJL Electronics » Thu Nov 05, 2015 5:02 pm

Still on the hunt for fuel tank manufacture and I now have a chapin Wrexham who says he wants to make them. So anyone going that way would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I know. Unbelievable!

I spent the weekend inspecting, cleaning and painting that tank. Refitted it Monday and put some fuel in it yesterday. The fuel ended up on the workshop floor!

So, it is another job to remove it again and send it to another fabricator who seems keen to produce them for me. He has given me a good price for the first one and turnaround estimated at four weeks. Just got to get this, or another example to him as a pattern.

I am driving back from Hungerford on Sun 22nd Nov in an estate car. If you are fairly close to the M5 I could collect your tank and bring it home to Newtown?. I then drive past Wrexham at least 2 or 3 times a week for work so would be able to drop the tank there at some point in the subsequent fortnight.
Obviously this route would take up to 4 weeks so a more direct offer may come availabe. If not feel free to get in touch.
With regards, Adam

Will you go A417 to M5? If so, I am about 4 miles from the air balloon (will add about 2 miles to the trip) and ca get the tank back from Andy beforehand?

Absolutely Jim, sounds ideal if you are that close to the air balloon.

Still negotiating at the moment, I have to email some more info. Then I have a company in the Midlands that is interested in the job.

One of the issues I have is that there was lots of interest when I started this quest, but now I can't even get firm expressions of interest. I may have to buy ten which is a substantial investment and can't risk being stuck with them.

If it is any use I am going to Hungerford on Sunday morning around 10.00 on my way to Portsmouth. I could drop it off saving Adam a dog leg journey. When is he planning to return home from Hungerford on Sunday? Cheers Chris

Thanks for the kind offer Chris but I wont actually be in Hungerford, just in that general direction. Jim is planning to meet me en route so I think we have the pick up covered.
