Help in Wales

Post by Elizabeth's dad » Mon Jun 15, 2015 6:21 pm

The first SOS for the International!

I've just had a phone call from Albert who is over from Germany for the International. He is in Wales, currently near Fishguard and is in need of a replacement exhaust manifold. He is about to email me details of where he is and his contact number. He has someone who can fit a manifold for him, but needs the part; I have a pair which I will take down on Thursday when we set off, but it would be better if anyone nearby has the parts and could deliver them to him that would be better because the job will be completed in time for Albert and Uta to take part in the whole of the International.

I'll add to this post when I get more information from Albert, and I'm going to post it on a number of areas of the forum to maximise the potential of helping. Please contact me if you can help.

I hadn't, but I will. I can post a spare one of mine tomorrow and hopefully have it there by Wednesday. I need exhaust gaskets too (I don't have any.) I'll try the Noggin sec, if necessary I'll be back on here asking if someone can send exhaust gaskets urgently, otherwise I'll be ringing GW or QRG first thing and seeing what they can do on gasket delivery.

Geoff Richards is skulking about in S Wales may even be in Pembroke prior to going to Llandoddy. His car is often full of spares not manifolds though. You could try 07419240462

Thanks Geoff

I've rung and left a message for the South Wales Noggin sec. In the mean time, I've found my spare manifold and discovered 3 gaskets I didn't know I had, so unless I hear from someone nearby tonight I'll post mine the quickest delivery service tomorrow.

Don't let that put anyone off offering if they are nearby and have a manifold. :)

Well well well (3 holes in the ground) I just phoned Geoff and he is in believe it or not Fishguard. But he doesn't have any gaskets let alone a manifold.

I'll see if I can give Jon the noggin sec a nudge, also will give the scraps out there a call as well as the manifolds aren't too different across the range iirc?

Edit Jim just saw your post, I'll put the brakes on that front if need be. Although I don't have gaskets there's a small chance I might have a manifold that never got used on link.....

Thanks Tom. I have my spare manifold and 3 gaskets I didn't know I had packaged up for Parcelforce tomorrow. Should be there by 12.00 Wednesday.
