Scrap Scimitars

Post by ScimiTom » Tue May 28, 2019 9:39 pm

A friend of mine discovered these Scimitars in a scrapyard between Howwood and Lochwinnoch.

[Apologies - photos are attached in my next post below...]

Sadly, these photos are from a couple of years ago and, on dropping by today, I discovered that the Scimitars have now gone. I had a brief chat with the landowner's son, who believed at least one of them had been bought to be restored. Apparently there was also a beige one in reasonable condition. Anyone know anything about these? That SE5 definitely appears salvageable.

Upload the pictures using the “add files” button below the reply box. I gave up on photobucket when they tried to hold us all to ransom.

I usually just drag and drop the photo from my gallery like this. Sorry it's an MGB GT but it's the only car related photo on my computer I could find.

Yes, I was exactly the same. I've just paid one month's subscription - there will not be another!

Nice spot, Jim! Hopefully it's getting some TLC from its new owner.

Shame, with it being an early example, that an 'Essex' wasn't found for it & the other bits sourced & it got running & used........ :(
