Hi from a new member

Hello to everyone from a new member & extremely new owner.
After many years of perusing this forum off & on I’ve finally taken the plunge & brought a GTC.
My previous classics have been a MGB Roadster & more recently a Renault Caravelle ( rear engined cabriolet) - I seem to like soft top cars!
Spent last week reading old slice mags from early 80’s - exciting reading about tales of trunnions, cooling, camshaft gears & rear axle problems - at a time when the cars were relatively new!!
Gave me great confidence when I went to collect car today & begin the 140 mile journey home!
Needn’t have worried car performed faultlessly - I only needed to stop a few times for my needs - I seem to leak more than a GTE!
Armed with my RAC membership, the first 50miles of journey was a gentle 60mph cruise down M6 followed by 80miles of A49 @ 50mph.
Resisted the urge to detour to Graham Walkers & introduce myself - I’m sure I’ll have lots of interaction with them in the future.
Arrived home in rural Herefordshire without incident. Are there any members in my locality? Can’t seem to make the website “members map” work

Since I’ve had to tax it for a month. I’m going to use it as much as I can (dependent on weather) to get familiar with it - warts ‘n’ all. Then SORN it for the winter, during which I can have a good look at trunnions, cooling, camshaft gears etc.

I’m going to NEC next week so will hunt out the RSSOC stand & say hello.

Welcome :D

Which side of Hereford are you? The Glos noggin meets in the Forest of Dean, just South of Westbury on Severn.

I’m a few miles West of the city.
The White Hart is about 30miles by road from me - a pleasant drive in the summer.
I’ll probably try to get down to a meeting after Christmas, The Election, New Year, Brexit, Armageddon...

I also live in West Herefordshire, towards Kington. Where are you located?
I am very slowly restoring a 1969 SE5, so no specific knowledge of GTC’s but always willing to help/chat.
