VWG212K is back

Post by fletch » Thu Apr 27, 2017 6:36 pm

I have been on the forum since late last year when I bought a very sorry SE5. VWG212J had been sat on various drives and yards since its last MOT ran out in 2006. So to say the interior had suffered from damp is an understatement. The main frame had survived ok but the out riggers and seat belt mounts were poor with the occasional hole in the rust. Shocks and brakes were all shot.
But to cut a long and at times hand scrapping story short VWG212j has just passed it's MOT. :D :D :D :D :D
She has not traveled further in the last hour than in the last 11 years and I loved every minute.
See you in a field this show season. You can not miss her as so far no work has been done on the body just look where all the other people are looking on in envy.

Well done on the MOT - don't be afraid to drive her...some fettling may be needed, but once 'shaken-down' you'll feel happy driving her anywhere....

Great news on the MOT. I still get a buzz when one of ours gets through the test. Just get out there and drive it.

The one under the cover is another se5.
It has been of the road for nearly as long as the brown one. Now Vwg212j is on the road I will be starting work on it.
