Protech Springs and fully adjustable dampers

Post by Terry H » Tue Feb 20, 2018 3:36 pm

I'm offering these on here before putting them on Ebay. I bought them December 2016 with the intention of putting them on my Scimitar but found they are not wide enough at the bush end for the GTE. This is a set of four, two 400lb springs for the front and two 350lb springs for the rear. The guy I bought them off said he had only run them for 50 mile but I can't remember if he said what car. He bought them new and they cost him £480, £95 for each of the dampers and £25 each spring. I have not used them as they weren't wide enough at the bush ends. I'm asking, inclusive of P+P in UK, for what I have in them which is a total of £300.

Protech Springs and fully adjustable dampers

You can use spacers between the joint and the eye. Protech sell them, but those rose joints might be a bit hard on the road. Have you spoken to Protech to see if they could change them and if so what it might cost?

Use this type of spacer.
Available in various widths and diameters, and also have the added benefit that they reduce 1/2" bore rosejoint to a more suitable bolt size to suit your standard bolts

I thought about using spacers but changed my mind about using them. Also thought about the rose joints being hard and was not sure what to do about that as well and as I have some medical issues that have made me rethink the work I do on the cars I now own and what work I pay someone else to do I think it best I sell these to someone who can use them and make a little saving.

Protech are fantastic to deal with - proper small British company on a trading estate. They have racks full of spacers and will swap and change end fittings for next to nothing. If I didn’t have new dampers on 8 ball already, I’d snap these up.
