Restored SE4 Coupe

Rarely for sale and obviously an exceptional car:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Reliant-Scimi ... 3641.l6368

The ad gives a lot of information but I am slightly puzzled by the bit about "problems and niggles".It would be helpful if we could know what these were because personally I would not have an expectation of too many of these at a price of £16k from a private seller.
Anyway,Coupes of this apparent high standard don't appear often, so well worth a trip to see if in your price range.

Appears to only be £10k to me if you bid on it, you never know might get lucky :) , bargain in my book if as good as it appears, it is a straight 6 afterall

Belongs (or did) to a nice chap who is a forum member (though not particularly active). I've seen the car a few times over the years (though only in it's pre-restoration state) even then it was on the Club stand at Bromley 2010. Worth a look if you're in the market for one?

Under opening bid £10k it says " reserve not met"...so the reserve could be anywhere between £10001 and £15999 ?

However,as you,say a £10k bid might eventually get it if that's the only bid.

Interested to see what happens because as far as I know this is the first "good" coupe to come on the market for about 2 years when there were two totally restored cars marketed by dealers both at £20k.

was originally listed with no reserve, the owner was on face book a while ago asking what it was worth...

i would never judge an item on digital images alone but i have a st6 coupe that has stood in a field for 25years and it has straighter sills :? .

Listing has ended with no bids.

I don't know why people put up good cars on eBay auctions.I would have put it on Car and Classic at £13500 and bided my time.

The limited exposure having produced no bids, observers such as me might conclude that the market has judged that it isn't worth five figures.

Limited exposure? eBay gets far more coverage - and carandclassic show eBay listings too.

By llimited I mean the listing was for one week only,a car with such a small specialist market surely needs much longer.

I guess that’s where a Claasified Advert might have been better - but you have to pay for that.

I can't help but think a lowered starting price makes no difference if there's still a reserve.

Agreed.
The only thing we know for certain is that a week or so ago the" buy it now" price was £16k.
Strange way to try and sell a car IMO.

in my opinion 16 k was a very optimistic asking price even at the 13500 you quoted for a car that needs the chrome redoing, needs a headlining, needs correct door panels fitting, needs correct steering wheel, sills looking at and undisclosed "problems and niggles" sorting. but hey a seller can ask what they like for something they own, as my Tiad used to tell me when i was a young child what you ask for and what you get may be two completely different things. I Hope i end up eating my own words and the car finds a home that will sort out the niggles.... may mean i rescue the one i mentioned early out of the nettles......
