Oh my.
Personally that is the holy grail for me and my strange tastes.
Must go lie down.

Nice SS1
In a decade of SS1 involvement I have NEVER had the opportunity to acquire a Brecon gold 1300. I don't even recall seeing one in any regard.
Is there any others known to the register ? It's a seriously rare combination. Maybe not the holy grail. But a bit of a unicorn none the less.

Re: Nice SS1
Keep gazing at this longingly. Much want.
On a proper screen now I reckon the VIN plate in the engine bay reads 210181FJ0000671. If I've got a moment I shall sort my old copy of the register and see just how many 210181 ( 1300 / gold) cars are on record. Not many.
Anyway. Here's the MOT history, which plays nicely into the non galv nay sayers hands.

To be fair, find me a British car at 20 years old that doesn't need a bit of remedial metalwork. There's a 2005 Mondeo on the driveway here that's had the sills patched... who said modern cars didn't rust.MOT history of this vehicle

Re: Nice SS1
I would be a little concerned that the repairs in 2009, 2010 & 2011 were carried out in such short time and would be "looking" at this (and tbf, any non-galv) car with a screwdriver!

Re: Nice SS1
Most probably done by the garage conducting the test.
I seldom find a garage patches to a standard I deem acceptable.
Actually that's a bit of a non sequitur on the basis "patch" and "acceptable" don't really belong in the same sentence.
Just speculation however, and the only way to find out is a thorough inspection.

I even have 2 spare original Autoplas "SCIMITAR" wheel trims for this side to replace the generic ones.

It's a beauty. Hope it finds a good home.

Re: Nice SS1
On the 2011 MoT I'm interested to know how they can tell that the seat belt mounting area is corroded (5.2.6) cos it's hidden by a plastic panel, unless the base/side of the sill is so rusty that its within the 300mm range
It does sound like an ideal source of matching gold coloured panels
is sir's screwdriver the regulation size or just anything that a darn good shove will attest to? I've gone to look at cars armed with a screwdriver as suspected they were 'iffy' and ended up just using my finger to point out the rusty areas, and by point out I mean pass through! it does give the buyer a strong bargaining lever

You're right Phil. I asked the lady for the VIN and she complied. Unusual for an ebay seller. In exchange I put it on here and our facebook page. It is a sweet looking car and I hope it goes to a good home. I wonder how far the MOT station was from her home!

Looks to have sold on eBay last week.
Let's hope the owner crops up and makes themselves known. I'll bring my own drool bib if they pop along to Curborough with the car.
