660 GLE relates to a Reliant Scimitar on MoT history, so maybe the number is on retention?

It says the car is 'road-usable' - it doesn't say it's actually been used on the road in the US. The ad clearly says it comes with the UK registration, and the dash/odo is showing around 50K miles which is likely what HRH and others knocked up in it years ago - so I suggest it went to the US in a crate and could come back in one, without ever going on public roads and hence never needing to change any element of its UK registration. The fact that it is listed on DVLA suggests it was never taken off their books. If it was on retention or had been cancelled it wouldn't come up on DVLA's screen (I know as I've just checked with my own plates).

The price isn't the issue, the real question is where do you keep it? We've had this discussion not so long ago with respect to the Ogle 250 (iirc). Getting money together isn't a problem, so much as the practical issues of storing the car and keeping it in good condition. If I ever win the lottery (unlikely, as I never do it...) my plan is to create the museum that Reliant planned but never got around to establishing. That would give this car a home worthy of it. And the general public would be able to see it. Too many of these seminal cars are locked away out of sight in private collections.

I remember Don showing me the original 1/6th scale (? it was quite large) publicity model he managed to get from Ogle after he bought the car from Beaulieu. I wonder where that is now. It was a perfect replica in every detail.

Apparently Beaulieu moved the car on because they said it had no heritage!

Here are a couple of photos of the car at Beaulieu, taken in the late 70s.
