Manual Gearbox Conversion Kit £350 East Sussex

Post by nutgone » Tue Feb 18, 2020 6:37 pm

Having sold my Scim some time ago (& in need of some cash for some workshop machinery) it's time to sell the manual conversion parts I bought for the car.

Included are the following:
2-rod, 4 speed + O/D box, complete with slave cylinder & clutch arm.
Rear gearbox mount cross member (still attached to box),
Prop shaft,
Pedal assembly,
later type flywheel,
One good master cylinder (brake & clutch are same size on this setup),
brand new stainless steel braided clutch hose,
brand new pilot bearing,
brand new release bearing (to suit later flywheel assembly, the bearing mount has been machined to fit & bearing is fitted ready),
Brand new clutch kit (still in box),
Brand new "OVERDRIVE" badge for back of car,
universal leather gearstick gaiter (black).

Parts I've lost but may well turn up:-
Return spring for pedal assembly (both clutch & brake pedals take the same springs, one was broken but I seem to have lost the good one)
brand new "8-Ball" gear knob, threaded to fit gear stick.

Some parts have been stored outside, so it'll all need cleaning up & checking.
I removed the overdrive inhibitor switch (these are very expensive new, if you can find one), rebuilt it & stored it inside, so that's OK.

It's basically an almost complete kit of parts to convert your scimitar to manual. All you'll need is some wiring bits for the overdrive, plus an overdrive switch, & some bits & bobs like a piece of brake pipe (although I have a roll so could even throw in a bit of that).

This lot cost me a small fortune to put together, but I need it gone. so I'm taking a loss at £350 (no offers).
I can strap it to a pallet for a small fee, but you'll have to arrange a courier.

Please either call/text/WhatsApp me on 07412389270 (you'll probably have to leave a message if calling, so may be better to text first) or email me through the forum.

I'm sure there are bits I've forgotten, so I'll edit this as stuff turns up.

He says the brake & clutch master cylinders are the same size, so it wasn't intended for a SE6

A 2 rod box would be from a 5/5a but they have been fitted to a 6 before.

Yes, Mine for example! However, the comment about hydraulic cylinders confuses me. Didn't the SE5A have vacuum-assisted brakes? How canthe master cylinders be the same size?

I have the same size (Non-original) brake and clutch master cylinders on 8ball.
