SS1 1600 FOR SALE

Post by lmcg » Sat Apr 15, 2017 4:39 pm

Downsizing forces sale of much loved Feb 1989 SS1 1600 35,500k. MOT until November. Bertie aka Licorice small sports is the holder of many happy memories we've made together over the past 20 years. Black, galvanised chassis, always garaged, reasonably tidy, reliable, ss exhaust, roll bar, hard top, new fuel line and radiator. Tax discs and all MOTs since 1997. Much history including original order form, sales invoice for £10,597 and Reliant sales leaflet from Chequered Flag Garage dealership in Chiswick. Looking for an appreciative new home. Asking £1,150. in Wiltshire between Marlborough and Andover and can be reached on 01264 850 749.

Many apologies. Still can't believe that I omitted to say that there are advisories on the last MOT (expires November) saying that both nearside and offside upper and lower suspension arms are corroded but not seriously weakened, likewise, same description given to the rear Radius arms. All four coil springs described as slightly corroded. Suspect that it means that after a couple more years things will need to be tackled. Otherwise underpinnings in tip top shape. Again, apologies but want to be as straight forward as possible regarding expectations. lmcg.

Looks like an absolute bargain :-)

Could you please email the chassis number to ss1.registrar@rssoc.co.uk as I don't think it's on the club database.

Dear Jim,
I have supplied the info to Mike. I know it was registered when I first got it but it's obviously something got lost along the way. Anyway, good job you asked so as to keep the records straight.
Thanks
lmcg

Dear All,
Just to say that Bertie went off yesterday for a new life in the West Midlands. Parting made easier by knowing he's gone to such an appreciative and gentlemanly knew owner; Enjoy Paul. I'll take this chance to give huge thanks to all the amazing club's organisers without whose enthusiasm and time-giving, the marque would have probably long gone. Best wishes to you and all the members.

Thank you Laurence. Pleasure meeting you both. Bertie made it back to the West Midlands no problem and is now in daily use. Definitely benefitted from the hard top this morning with all the drizzle. Best wishes, Paul
