if theres a lack of spare ones that tells you everything you need to know about how happy people are, clearly repeat custom.

Lots to consider. I’m going for 13s next season, so just need to decide what size, as there’s so much choice when you look across all of the brands! 205/60 215/55 225/45 235/45 245/45 :?

Avon 215/55/13 are virtually the same rolling radius as 195/45/15, so they are current favourites. Lots of time to make up my mind though, and your car was paddling well on those Extremes.. hmmmm

Mikey, if you're considering road/sprinty tyres i would seriously look at the vr1 or vr2 r7 or 9 compound, Darryl runs r5 (softest) and seeing just how soft they are, i expected them to be full slicks by now, so a harder compound should give more miles ...in theory...i've seen you drive :)

And i'm beginning to suspect that nissan and bmw knew i was going to do this, the stars have aligned, to the point that a 6206 stock bearing fits the crank and takes the bmw input shaft perfectly. its going to end up 1ft shorter than the nissan box, so thats a bonus, and i'll probably have to make a new mount..so Darryls happy...he hates that gearbox mount

Are you going to need smaller brakes? they do some wider in 13" so it would be ideal for us as I suspect im going to need wider tyres with all the extra power but I really dont want to have to mess with the front brakes as they are awesome.

No my brakes are fine. They were developed for 13” wheels from the start.

Phil Andrew kindly sold us his cage and it is now sat in the garage along with the new drivers seat waiting for the car to come back from Revlimit, I have been avoiding chasing Jamie as I know he is busy but its been a month so I might give him a nudge tomorrow. We have decided not to use the original BMW gearbox as dad has found a better six speed with ratios much closer to the stock TI, its rated at 20nm less but is 7KG lighter and shorter than the other one which is a bonus. The bespoke clutch has arrived from Calder clutches, they were great to deal with and we will be using them again:

This week has been an expensive one,Dad dropped the forged engine in kit form off at https://www.head-shop-uk.co.uk/ as we decided the last place we used did not have a clue what they were doing having ruined two sets of bearings. it turns out that they didnt and that the previous machine shop got the bore clearance wrong which meant our existing 83.5mm forged pistons were too small so ive had to buy a new set, theres another £550  followed by having to buy a new flywheel at a cost of £300 :(

Good work mate :D think swapping to a better ratio box is key, but the idea is bang on.

Watching with real interest 8)

The hybrid ET/DET forged short block has finally been balanced and assembled by a proper engine shop using brand new 84mm Wossner pistons and Eagle rods, the main reason for paying someone to do this was not having the skills to file the piston rings to the correct clearance and im being lazy but in hindsight im glad I did. The nose of the crank had to be speedi sleeved as the seal surface was goosed, its has been a long slog with this one so it is nice to finally have it in one piece.Once the ECU install has been completed we can bolt up the new gearbox/ clutch package and go chasing some proper power which along with the planned weight reduction should see the TI a tad quicker than it was this year.
