New purchase Se5

Post by Stupopt1 » Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:44 am

Just picked up an Se5, my first Scimitar, has been sitting for a few years but really looking forward to getting it fixed up and can't wait to drive it
Had it dropped off by transporter and gave it a scrub, but that's all I have done so far.

It does not look bad at all - hope you get out and about in it soon. Usual things to do - if it still has the fibre timing wheel change it for a alloy or steel one. Get to your local noggin for any help/information.

Hi and Welcome!!

Phil, it does look familiar and isnt this the car that was on a car park in London some time back? could be wrong..

good luck with the car and start a project thread! even if just for your own enjoyment and reference to see your progress.

cheers, Ian.

If it is made of nuts and bolts I WILL take it apart..... going back together is a whole different ball game

You are correct, this is me rescuing it yesterday morning, it did look very sorry for itself, going to be a lot of work . It's got a lot going for it.
Engine converted to unleaded, good interior, good dash, stainless exhaust, manual, overdrive.
I haven't checked the timing gear yet but won't try to start it until I have, early days yet

I gather it was a well sorted car before being parked up -hopefully it won't take too much to get back on the road.

Well, I have been having a good look over the car and started quite a shopping list
Alloy timing gear
new brake master Cyl
new clutch master cyl
new brake lines
fuel lines
water pipes
fuel tank straps
4 new Tyres
Bit of welding to the chassis
Haven't looked a suspension yet
All do able just might take a little longer than first expected, happy days.
