Wow! That engine fitment looks great.
Interested in the vinyl pros and cons to. I have a few cracks in my paintwork now that would need to be cut out filled in level with the surrounding paint to allow a vinyl top.

Mod Edit - the vinyl wrap question attracted a lot of comment in it's own right, so as requested that's now been split off to another thread Here

Bah!!! I've just spent the last two weeks formulating a plan to fit a Jag AJ V6 into a tax free Scimitar after seeing how cheap S-Types have become on ebay, thinking I'd be the first to do it, and now I've found this thread!

Top work, I shall watch with interest ready for when I start my conversion (I have neither an S-Type donor or a Scimitar yet).

Please do keep the updates coming. :)

Smiler.

That engine installation looks excellent. Very snug! A nice & low centre of gravity too I should think? Looking forward to the next instalment :)

I'm pretty sure it'll happen. I'm thinking though that this time I'll try to buy the best Scimitar I can afford so that all I have is the engine swap to worry about (and brake and suspension upgrades) and not a complete rebuild as with my present two projects. Otherwise it'll never get done!

The 2.7 AJD-V6 Lion (Ford/PSA) engine is a twin turbo (single, bigger turbo in the LR) - I reckon it would be a tight squeeze!!

the engine looks a very tight fit, is there enough clearance around the scimitar ironmongery to take up movement, vibration etc ? I hope so !
I'm thinking that the cross brace may need to be reshaped a little ? Hope Im wrong.

With this sort of project, re-shaping the cross-brace would be a minor consideration I'd imagine.

This is EXTREMELY interesting mate!! Fine work but it really is a tight install. Will pay dividends when she's up and running.

Like others I have been toying with this idea of the Duratec V6 as it is a very good engine. Eagerly awaiting news on this. 8)

Have you got as far as fettling the foot wells or transmission tunnel yet?

Saying that, if a 2.9 Cosworth V6 will fit (I assume it's been done to a 5?) then this should.
