Ben's SS1 - SSF novice sprint car

Post by BigBobPilot » Fri Jan 12, 2018 10:37 pm

I didn't reply about the shoulder straps, as I've used the cage harness bar. I did look at bolting back to the chassis, but as it drops away I was looking at making a small tower bracket to bring the mounts level. I think other people have bolted a bar across the chassis to get a level mounting, but that's usually when they haven't got a full cage.

The seat mount looks good. What's the crotch strap plate extending forward for?

Cheers Ben I m pretty sure the harness will be in the acceptable region around the harness bar so I'll go with that.

Plate extending forward...... indecisiveness.... when I put the seat in with the existing rails fitted I thought that to get the hole in the correct position i.e. Within 20 deg to the vertical the mounts would be slightly in front of the seat rail, after re checking they are slightly behind, I'll probably cut the front part off with grinder :? :(

Cheers Steve the tank was a snug fit but really happy with it and progress. Your sketch dimensions were very helpful. Ta
