I understand Geoff Newcombe’s believed to be ex-HRH car doesn’t have any paper trail to confirm it - just some “unique” details such as a extra storage hatch in the rear side panels for a radio?

What I have is a ‘photostat’ copy of the original V5, this was handed to my father when he bought the car in 1985. This is obviously pre modern computer and printer times. It is registered to the Home Office but with it’s original (current) registration number.

Yes, and far more leather detailing in the interior than any other Scimitar I've ever seen :D

I visited Two Gates in the early 80s with Don Pither and they had HRH's new GTE in a side bay while they fitted the "special security radio" (a big lump!) in the rear. The car did indeed have extra leather detailing, even down to hand-stitched leather gaiters covering the hatch struts.

I was quite surprised that they let us get so close to the car, even letting us sit in it. Long time ago but I seem to recall it was an RAF-type blue.

Here's Geoff's car (complete with "only for show use, honest, Officer!" plates :D ) and showing the leather trimmed rear interior with adapted storage cubby:

The one I have is of similar colour and never been touched, although certain parts will need re-spraying. It has a tan leather interior. It has the spot lights on the front, Just a drivers door mirror and aerial on the front drivers wing. Alloy wheels but not like others on pics here though with 185/14 tyres on.

When it comes out of hiding my plan is not to get it showroom condition but to keep as much originality as possible for a 45 year old car.

Ah - Dunlop composites. An optional extra for SE5a and SE6 (Wolfrace were available for the 6a).

There is a roof aerial as well as the drivers side front wing aerial, also a base on the passenger front wing as well, but the latter does not look like a aerial base. In the boot there are 2 storage compartments under the carpet, one on either side...is that standard ?
