Hi All, has anyone managed to adapt and fit power steering to a Scimitar SE 5A?

It has been done at least once that I know of - you’ll need a handy machine shop and TIG welder though. Far simpler to fit EPAS.

Probably for welding a rack back together once it’s been chopped to size - a MIG probably won’t cut it..

Yep. The problem is finding a rack the correct width. I’m sure there’s plenty that could be modified to fit if you have the ability and/or budget.

Only drawback with the epas is you still have about 4 turns lock to lock

Bear in mind this thread is about Se5a - I thought they were about 3.5? Anyway the end result will be no worse than every other Se5a on the road, just lighter :D

I thought about this many years ago , the 1800 and 2200 did have a power steering option, couldn’t find a lhd Power rack 30 yrs ago though.

I know Roy
They are more scarce than you can imagine.
The A O C are actively looking for them to keep their cars going, but most owners are thinking of changing to manual.
The unit fitted to the top of the range models is a very complex bit of kit.
