I have two manual steering to sell. I know one is from a 5a which I had in bits a few years ago. The second rack is visually identical to the first so I imagine its from either a 5a also or maybe the previous models. I was wondering if anyone could tell me where reliant bought these racks from. I wondered if they were standard parts but I can't see any markings from them?

5/5a racks are modified LHD landcrab. Mark Wilson is the man for these.

Already have a few Scimitar spares, and rebuilt.
Mark and I have discussed these Jim.

Why doesn't that surprize me!
I guess that bl had a few spares so reliant helped them out a bit!
Someone told me the front screen on a 5 a is from a ford classic, is that correct. I believe the 6a was meant to be from a corsair?

Ford didn’t make the windscreens, in the same way that Aston Martin didn’t make the rear lights. Reliant used specialist parts suppliers like lots of other manufacturers.

SE5 windscreen is Ford Consul Capri, manufactured by a couple of companies.
Rear Lucas SE5a etc, L891 Lamp, which was commissioned by Reliant as a joint venture with Lotus is an intriguing story in its own right.
Bought by Aston, TVR and even Maserati for the Ghibli, finally by Jensen Healey which failed to hit predicted sales.
