I am going to rewire a new fuse box in my 74 5a and tidy up some of the wiring as there are a few joins and cuts in the cables and am trying to find out what size and rating i should use. Some work has been done previously as there are a couple of relays that seem to have been added, possibly for the lights, and a bit of dubious reworking of various cables. It is mainly the larger cables i need to order, the large white, green and brown wires are the main ones. I have electric windows so have 50 amp fuses, I have found 57amp cable but only in red, black or brown. Any advice on sizes and where to buy from would be appreciated.

Polevolt is another one, recommended to me by the late Geoff Cooper. You may find you need to buy bits from various sources (and sometimes mix standard and thin wall cable) to get the right colour and size. For the electric windows, you should be OK dropping to 40A or 42A cable as they're only intermittent use (unlike an alternator).
