Drive shaft sliding yoke sizes??

Post by turbster » Tue Oct 02, 2018 7:50 pm

Well I haven’t come across this problem before, so I’m hoping others have and can shed some light on it..

My 5a has a type 5 4 speed non O/D box. The sliding yoke is pitted and no longer sealing. Seems like a simple job, and I took my 25 spline yoke to a local propshaft place and they provided me with a replacement which was apparently for a type 9 box too. Upon trying to refit the prop I could only slide the yoke on around 1/2” before it became jammed.. They look very similar but not quite the same on close inspection. My thinking is there are metric and imperial 25 spline yokes and I have a metric one??
