... Am I missing something or is their a trick to removing the back section of the rear seats? I can lift them up on a hinge type bracket but can't see how to unbolt them.

should be 3 cross head screws facing toward the back of the car for both hinges, under the carpet backing.

the outer ones WILL be seized, drill the heads off, the inner ones being oiled, will come out easily.
