Hello, is this for the SE5a?

If so, I'd be interested in one too if it's not too late.

I have one question though... is this the kind of thing that can be fitted with everything else in place? Starting at the top of the thread you mentioned you have your car's nose off at the moment... is that a prerequisite of replacing this piece with a new one?

If not, and if all that is required to replace these is some basic tools, some anger and a few well placed spots of rage hammering... I'd be interested.

Thanks Mark,

You certainly have put a lot of thought into designing the gold standard bracket for us all - fair play to you!

Let me know when you need payment for mine.

Cheers, Gary

Like the sound of the mods, Mark - and even though I have a fully complete one there at the moment is like one of yours if there's one available from the batch? If not, my fault for not shouting earlier.

AnotherTim, this thread was started by AnotherNewbie (Alex) wanting info on these items for the SE5/a, I used to make them for Scimpart many many years ago, but they HAD to be to original spec, so no galve and the studs etc. :)

If you have basic tools and you can remove what`s left of the corroded original mine is a very easy refit. Fit and Forget.

Phil your not too late as I can make as many (within time allowed) as needed.

All I need is YOUR input on which type of bumper iron fitting you prefer, options 1,2 & 3 earlier in the thread.

All same price, £45 + post or free collection, I can also supply ALL the bolts, washers & nuts to replace these, if fixings required please let me know which are needed and I`ll quote a full package. :?:

I also make the SE6/a "L" shape nose support bar out of Galve, if interested please contact me with your requirements for quotes. :!:

Hi Mark. I'll take the full package, so to speak. The captive nut sounds like a good solution. What are the other two options? Just a hole, and?

Captive nuts please :D - just let me know what thread they are. ;)

In another note, as this thread has morphed somewhat I'm now linked it from the more appropriate "For Sale" section.

Chris, sorry I thought I`d made myself clear on the Bumper fastening, either the standard stud ( As original ), captive nut on the inside, Or just a hole for the fitter to use a nut and bolts of their preference.

Phil, I can put whatever threaded fitting you desire ( but not stainless as it won`t weld to galve properly) I will use 1/2" UNF unless otherwise asked.

I'd prefer M12 if possible? Mainly because I've got a good stock of M12 cap heads.

Hi Mark,

I'll go for the captive nut option also and all the fixings please, 1/2 UNF as you suggested earlier.

Cheers,
Gary

:drum: UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE :drum:

TEN UNITS AVAILABLE

CAST IN ORDER OF APPEARANCE;

TILO
CROWTHER
GARY
LAMBRETTALD
PHIL HOWARD
JIM KING
ANOTHERTIM

These units are Uneconomic to ship through postoffice due to size/weight, so I`m looking at other couriers. :w

One thing I have discovered is a very slight variation in the sizes that willholderogri`s drawing shows, but I have proofed the prototype on MY 1974 5a and it`s a perfect fit ( the ones I made for Scimpart in the 90s were also to My cars dimensions )

A few pics of the work in progress; :W

I will mail direct everyone my transfer details just as soon I get the final price inc shipping, and the extra fittings for those who request them,
