Classic Days 2019 Le Mans Bugatti

Classic Days 2019 Le Mans Bugatti
Lots of action and plenty of interesting cars, more than 1000 cars on the track for the Sunday parade.
The move from Magny-Cours in May with unpredictable weather to the Sarthe in the middle of a heat wave was both good and bad.
Le Mans Bugatti is larger with not much in the way of shade under a July sun it was an uncomfortable trek between car parks, but there was not any rain or freezing cold wind.
Magny-Cours seems just that bit more compact and friendly, perhaps that was partly to the absence of free coffee and beer available at previous Classic Days Magny-Cours.
Advance booking we paid just 20 Euros for the MGB and two wrist bands giving us onsite classic parking, access all areas for both days PLUS entry on the track parade Not bad value! Public entry was 30 Euros on the day and there was no shortage of visitors even late afternoon.
Three nights B&B cost another 110 Euros each.
Brexit may have played its part as there were very few UK registered cars to be seen, probably less than Magny-Cours.
All in all a great success for the organization, so they will be back in two years time
Here are a few pics
Looking forward to Magny-Cours 2020, John

(could be posted in Europe as well?)

Nice photos, John! I'm particularly interested in the last one, of the Ford P68 (F3L) - do you know which car that is? :)

Hi Roger and thanks for the comments.

Ford P68/F3L
It may be chassis 003.
Did 001 survive?
002 was sold at Goodwood last year for almost £512,000! It was looking immaculate in fresh paint and with wing mirrors.

This one which I was surprised to see sported the original single roof top mirror and looked as though it had not been cleaned since I saw the two Alan Mann originals with Spence and McLaren at the BOAC 500 in 1968!!!!!!
However I think it may have made other recent appearances at Spa or possibly the Ring.

The sunlight on the pit lane was in the wrong place for decent photography but attached are the other two snaps that I took.
 you only get this sort of free pit lane access at Classic Days
Sorry I can not be more helpful.
John
PS The only Scimitar entered was that of Patrice, unfortunately he was knocked off his push bike by a car but is recovering.
