key burglaries to take a car to use in crime do happen, key burglaries using violence against an owner are rare and tend to become widespread news. A house alarm with panic buttons will reduce the risk and see off most intruders.

I think you have miss read my post or I have poorly worded it..... threats towards occupants in the course of a burglary in order to forcibly obtain keys to a vehicle are rare, smashing a window or door to grab keys on show aren't.
