New Scimitar Book Published today!

Post by drcdb15 » Tue Oct 16, 2018 6:20 pm

Smith's have now delivered the goods, at £13.96 as promised with free delivery to my local store which for me luckily is within walking distance - and I have to say, at first skim it does look an excellent book notwithstanding the 'errors and omissions' noted by others. It looks like quite a lot of new material too, especially regarding the early days and the Sabra era. I'm still at this stage in reading Don Pither's book and I could be wrong but my impression is Elvis has included a lot of photos that Don may not have had access to. I wonder if over the past 20 years or so, and especially with the advent of the internet, a lot of archive material has been more freely available and Elvis has been able to draw on this where Don could not. Anyway, my first impression is that the book is a worthy production, and I commend it to this House. Order, Order (it today!)

I ordered a copy from wordery via ebay & got refunded a few days later saying no longer available.

Luckily managed to order a copy from Amazon for £14.95 via the seller Book Depository.

Only had a quick look through it as of yet till I get more time to sit down and have a read.

My first impression is that drcdb15 (Chris) should be offered some beer mats. :)
Never mind beer *mats*, I think a pint of the real thing would go down very nicely

Come on, Scimitar buffs, how come no-one else picked up on our very own 50th anniversary celebratory brew ? (at least, I can't find any mention of it on here)

The beer bit appeared in the ridiculously early Jan. 2019 edition of Classic Car Mart.
I was going to ask if anybody had tried it yet...…
Can you get it anywhere other than at Tamworth?
