I had intended it to be "Original fitment on both..."

But I'll entertain the shared compatibility of retro-fit items, though it would have to be a particularly interesting photo to take the win.

That said for an SS1 onwer how hard can it be to find an Ford Escort / Sierra/ Capri / Metro / Triumph Tr7 / Fiat 127 / Rover SD1 / Austin Ambassador / Daewoo Nexia / Astra Belmont / Lotus Elise etc. etc.

That's what I INITIALLY thought, ie "well that can't be difficult" but then I sat and thought again and realising you you ain't been in ABZ
all of the afore mentioned cars went to the breakers MANY moons ago, due to salt etc
just been shopping and 03, 04 plates are not uncommon in breakers (in fact older without a number is RARE  )

I had more chance with the >30years and not UK built :(

Does using moulded water pipes from a 480 heater system count?? as those are just the correct fit from heater to thermostat area on SS1

Well Chris, I think you may take the win on this challenge with the picture of dark star shining next to a TR6. Next challenge is all yours to set....

Wow, I won something, thanks Phil!

I was going to propose something with a french theme but that seems to have been done,
so how about a Scimitar/Sabre (or other RSSOC vehicle) with a police car or policeman.
Extra marks for a gendarme, no marks at all for plain clothes cops, though I might believe a plain car with flashing blue light

Geoff, a lovely pic of the Jimmy Ray / Mike Hughes Sabre on the '63 Monte (they were running third until they fell off near the end of the rally).
But I'm not convinced by your gendarme, it looks like a bloke in a bobble hat to me, and I'm fairly sure no self respecting gendarme of the time would have worn a beige anorak.

Stu, no idea what your pic is about but I love your car
Glad to see it's on the correct thread as well viewtopic.php?f=20&t=12631&p=302406#p302406

John Valler thought it was a gendarme. They do wear a pointy RAF cap.
In fact I spent ages on Google street view pinpointing the exact position. I got carried away and made a fake pic which I sent to John saying dammed gendarme is still there!!!!
