The Mk I Sciricco was a truly great car. It was sleek, graceful, had that 'sporty' look and was most definitely of it's time with it's paper sharp angles - it is obvious from just about any angle that it was styled by a man that knew how a car should look. The Mk II however ticks none of those boxes for me, the great unwashed didn't like it too much either - it's production run was 50% longer than the Mk I yet it only sold 60% the number of units. If only the Mk II had looked as good as the later more expensive Corrado.....

I know it's far too late for the challenge 'Looking up' ... but just for the fun, this is the photo I would have sent
way back in April - if only I had the Purple at that time   -
Cheers,
Fred

Looking forward to parking on this place next week-end 8)
I might have a quick run to Laon tomorrow ... just checking how long it takes to drive up there ...

Aim for at least 8:30. March in as if you own the place and go in the restaurant on the left you will most likely be able to nick a cup of coffee without being seen. Toilets are left left opposite reception. Paperwork will be in red folders on a table in the lobby. I may be out initially as I have to go out very early to check something.

I liked the Scirroco too - and the Corrado (particularly mit kompressor :D ) I always thought the new car should have been called the Corrado as it had much more in common with it.

In that case, my previous car was the right choice -Scirocco Mk3 mit doppel kompressor :)

Tom Karen mentioned the Mk3 Scirocco as having the same lines as the GTE - rising waistline, falling roofline..

Don't think I can quite top Geoffs pic, but hey ho. Presuming this hasn't closed yet -

I give you 3 German vehicles pre 1990 parked up near me.

Taken on the way to work this morning. The blue Beetle isn't always there, despite the running boards and presence of much rust and grime, it is in use! For that I love it.

Can't see your club sticker btw Geoff :P

OK hands up - It doesn't have one. Pic doesn't qualify I just posted it as one of my wobblers as I had just got back from Laon.
I will try properly over the coming weekend if I can find one.

Might have missed the closing date but thought I'd bung this up from the supermarket carpark in Calais, not quite where you's expect to come across an Alfa of this vintage but I think it might just be pre 1990
Anyone (Roger :?: ) identify the model then.

I think you're right that it's a '50s Alfa Romeo - probably a 1900 "Disco Volante" (one of the later, more conventionally bodied versions). I should be able to easily tell exactly, as it's got a Goodwood Festival of Speed sticker on the side (the silver/grey elipse), though it may not relate to this year, as I can't find it in the programme. :)
