Went to the Swiss Museum of Transport today.
It'd be worth the entry fee alone to see those Monteverdis. But a Miura too! Don't think I'd want to leave.

I remember seeing one of the 4-door Monteverdis (photo 6) at the Forfar Classic Car Auction many (over 20) years ago. No kidding. Most exotic and rarest car I ever saw there. Wasn't in best of conditions. Had a sign on the windscreen saying "Warning, no brakes"!

I was hoping to visit the Monteverdi museum is Basel. But found out this morning that it closed in 2016 :( . However some of the exhibits were transferred to the Museum I visited yesterday, so only a partial disappointment :) .

I remember them from playing TopTrumps in the 70’s. As you say, very exotic.

Late Saturday afternoon at the Silverstone Classic, some of the Jaguars had a track parade. I was walking back to our stand, when I saw the cars coming back in. One of them was a car that I'd never seen for real before. Perhaps more notable for it's rarity, than it's beauty, it was the one-of-a kind PMG Rapport Forte Estate. It actually struck me that it's styling has quite a lot in common with the stillborn Scimitar Se82 project. You can read more about it here.

Having been auctioned a few years ago, it now appears, from the registration, as though it lives in Switzerland.

Looks like the tailgate was lifted straight from a mk.1 Astra estate. And the top green colour too

Coincidentally, one of those Carver Ones turned up at Southern Classics' most recent show. You're right about the cost - apparenty lack of demand at 30,000 euros resulted in the manufacturer going bust!
