Meant to ask, are these A posts made from stainless or plated steel?

Also, do you make the cill sctions too? My cills haven't blown at all but after exposing them through taking the A post sections out they are looking very corroded.

Hi Simon
The A post plates are Galve plated mild steel.

Yes I also make the cill repair sections.

Stainless Steel Door hinge mountings

Post by Rob Lockwood » Mon Jul 13, 2020 3:44 pm

Hello, I have just started to draw up the A pillar brackets for my SE5a with a view to getting a pair made but still in the early stages. I'm glad I saw your posts here, as you have been through all that already I'd prefer just to buy a set of yours if you still have them available?? What thickness of plate are yours, an original one I have measured about 2.5mm? Also do you by any chance supply the plates that are glassed into the doors to strengthen the hinge mountings as I need a pair of those too?

If you could let me know whether you can still supply these parts and if so your current prices that would be great. Thank you.

Stainless Steel Door hinge mountings

Very sorry Rob but due to my eviction I cannot make any A post brackets at present, I have other things to do.
I`m hoping to make a few sets in the near future though.
Mine are from 2mm Galvanised sheet and all the welds are painted in Zinc rich primer.

I have never been asked to make the internal door moulding stronger, BUT I DO manufacture a much stronger and thicker internal bracket that the hinges are bolted to.
These are threaded so once in place you never need to cut your hands to shreds when adjusting the door hanging. Complete kit for ONE door is £36 posted.
