No gaiters on the Essex - which gearbox do you mean? :-)

Although they're all unobtanium I think.

Yes there is Jim - no idea where to get one though if the club traders don't have them - or such as Burtons.

Not sure if the MK1 Lotus Cortina one would fit they look very similar but might be a different size . Lotus ones are available as a repro part . Try Burtons

Thanks for the info Roy. I've had no luck with QRG or GW traders. Ill give Burtons a try . If they are still open.

take care that you check the measurements before buying, it is a design ford used on numerous bell housings and they come in different sizes.... over the years I have collected a number of incorrect ones!

The gaiter for the hydraulic clutch looks like this 👇. To be honest I don't think they achieve a lot and the originals do become hard and cracked quite quickly.

that is for ran early bell housing, hydraulic clutch gaiters unfortunately arn't all the same, different bell housings were used through out GTE production, you need to measure the hole in your housing and then search for one based on the size. I would avoid second hand as they tend to go hard and can interfere with the clutch action making it heavy.

You can soften the hardened rubber by soaking it in a bath of wintergreen oil and vegetable oil (50:50) which will make it much easier to install. However, after a few weeks the softness wears off and they go hard again. Smells nice though!
