How do.
This request is as a result of the increasing longevity of our cars and the problem that corrosion of integral steel in the bodies can cause so decided to do something about it.
I've been concerned at the drooping doors caused by the weak original A posts in my car and have been impressed with the extent of work carried out by Darryl Webb and others to replace the corrosion-thinned mild steel with something longer lasting.
I came across a firm in North Yorkshire which laser cuts and bends stainless steel to a remarkable accuracy and finish and used Darryls drawings to produce the eight main components needed to replace both left and right handed posts. The main part and its gussets are 3mm thick, the strengthening plate is 2mm. I have four extra sets available if anyone needs them.
My car is to be repaired this summer using these as a trial but I will bring the four extras to Curbs should anyone want to use them earlier. PM me if you do.
They are available at cost price, no profit asked for, £35 each side.
Regards, Brian.

They look great Brian. I should really buy a set for 8 balls rebuild (when we're both in our 60s :-)) - Unfortunately a new engine and suspension (with tyres on the waiting list) mean I can't :-(

And as for you, Jim, what does yer red font say? Shame on yer. Still, the shelf life should be OK!

Oh dear, I've got a problem. There are five complete sets in stock and six needed. Can anyone wait until the initial batch has been trial fitted to a car to ensure that there are no unforeseen problems? If not, I feel I must go on the first come first served basis. It is important to me to achieve complete success and would really prefer to order the next batch after a proven fitting.
The list so far is:-
1. Brian (b.c.flat hat)
2. Rob (Scimifancier)
3. Nickandkarren
4. Hylton (hylton1806)
5. Tom (tomfollows)
6. Mike Hetherington (scimmy_man)

If you can wait please let me know, kind regards, Brian.

Hello Brian,I would be willing to wait as for me they are part of along term plan.Just out of interest would your contact be willing to make the sill supports as they are very similar to the hinge support all be it being a bit longer and a tighter angle.
Many tks Hylton.

Right oh, thanks Mike for solving the problem, your name first for the next batch?
Hi Hylton. I'm not sure if they can do the correct cross-sectional profile but I'll ask. I haven't got the drawing for the sill strengthener and, at the moment, don't have time to do one. All my spare time is taken up in re-commissioning my Coupe.
I have a work colleague who lives in Sunderland and I'll ask if he can take the components home for you to collect if that's OK. Can't guarantee anything but I'll ask.
Kind regards, Brian.

Hello Brian, anything you can do on the sills would be great and Sunderland would not be a problem.
Thks Hylton.
