Yep but without the (cough) £700 price tag
Or if your budget is a touch more generous you could take less off the OD and fit some bigger calipers too......... and it'd still be an awful lot less than £700, or even £400 if buy the calipers 2nd hand.

The new ss1 is a fast B road blaster so bigger brakes would be over kill, I've done all that to the SST which wears the willwood set up on the chevette uprights.

All the SST needed was the risk of boiling the brakes with spirited driving which has happened to me before!

This did the job for very little money

You certainly can't argue against your £130 to do the job !

I've been thinking along the lines of vented for my SST and thought they were an easy pickup from the Ebay ads, so this is a wake up call, I'm interested!

That works out at £45 per disc.
Photos to follow once fitted.
what cc engine were the discs for please

There appear to be 2 different types of vented front discs - 240mm and 304mm. You want the smaller, more common, cheaper ones.

You don't want ones from MGF Trophy or from MGTF 135 or 160.

note of caution- check that the spacers are the same thickness as the increase in the disc thickness between standards & the vented ones you choose!
my first ones weren't (spacer only 12mm & disc 16mm thicker  )
I've given the spacers to Dad (BC Flat Hat) to engineer up some out of thicker plate...which is what we did the first time with the set which are now on Charlotte's Sabre.
Sometimes it appears I've forgotten we did the mod. the right way the first time!

Are these now accepted in Road Going in the Sprint Championship? If so is there now more of an appetite for having a batch made up?

During some research for a version 2.0 big disc upgrade I've got as far as a virtually correct disc (1980's Mazda) and a suitable caliper (Saab) given the Carlton/Volvo combo is starting to prove difficult to find.

At this rate it might be easier to go with a set of modified SS1 callipers - except there aren't any discs..

Last I heard GW were having 20 pairs made. Could be wrong, but worth a try.
