Anyone recognise this Scimitar in France

Post by DARK STAR » Sun Apr 10, 2016 7:50 pm

Anyone recognize this, it was spotted by Erwan Rissel only weeks after its importation and french registration.
The new owner promised to be in touch but he hasn't shown up yet.
The car is now in Rennes (Ile-et-Vilaine), not sure if it's a SE6 or SE6a but it looks pretty good ...

Front bumper and grille says SE6a, Chris.

Surely the grilles are the same Andy?
And even the crinkly SE6 front bumper is not always consistent.
Wolfies indicate a 6a as well.
(The stupid spellchecker wants me to type 'Solfies', anyone know what they might be?)

If we knew what year the car is it would help ;-)
Surely someone must recognise it, it has club badges and was in the UK until a few weeks ago.

I don't think there's anything in those photos which *definitively* says this car is a 6a - after all, things like the bumpers and the rear quarter vent reflectors weren't an absolute guide to start with (as you say) and could have been changed. An underbonnet shot would be the best indicator. Failing that, all you can say is that the numerical probability favours a 6a, as there were a lot more made?

To be precise, the car lives near Saint-Malo and French plate number was attributed on last january, le 27 :-)

I quickly saw the 'under-bonnet' without thinking about using camera...

I know the new owner has changed brake system, fuel line and carburettor gaskets. He also added an electronic ignition.

The transmission is automatic and somewhere in my head I remember of 1976... I know that doesn't help for choosing between SE6 or SE6a...

Thanks Erwan.
It sounds as if the car is in good hands at least.
1976 is not very helpful, could be either model
Let's hope the owner gets in touch.
