not sure which engine you mean now - the 1995 L series (or subsequent development to the TD5) wasn't used in BMWs and the 1998 M47 (TD4/CDT/CDTi) wasn't designed in Cowley?

105 BHP and about the same torque is nowhere near the Essex power and comparing smoothness of a straight six to a V6 is a little unfair. Yes I do find the exhaust note sexy and no I don't want high revving capabilities (and you won't get that with a diesel either?) that's why I bought a Scimitar :-)

The M47 is obviously available in RWD, so seems the obvious choice if you want a 4 pot diesel?

The essex is sexy in the same way as american V8s are sexy. It's a totally different kind of "sexy" to a Ferrari V12. If that's what you want then I don't think you're going to get it from a diesel? :shock:

Nothing involving diesel is sexy.... unless your a very lonely lorry driver ;)

...or maybe a really hot girl driving a tractor, Now that I think about it and have actually met one, I take my comment back, becuase that definately was!!!

I REALLY dont get putting diesels in the Scimitar. The engine and sound of it is 70% why I like the car!!
