SouthoFrance Sortie 2019

In case any brave souls would like to join us in the South of France, here is a reminder that the Sortie Scimitar will take place as usual the last weekend of september ...
IF there is enough interest, which is not so at the moment

This is tempting.
Not sure to be able to join, we have a TVR car club France meeting few weeks before, then Morges. The women acceptance factor will be low .
I keep the date and may join you for a day only.

Yes I know what you mean about women acceptance factor.
What can one say, the vineyard should please, the hotel looks great and Villeneuve-lez-Avignon is spectacular ...
Keep us posted on your possibilities.

Hi,
Sorry for the short notice, is it possible to join you at the hotel Sunday morning before the departure?

Shouldn't be a problem, I'll give Phil Mason a nudge as he is the boss 8)

Hi, Zeb. Shouldn't be a problem - quite the contrary. You'll be able to discuss TVR's with Fred and James if you get fed up with Scimitar chat! I would think we'll be aiming to leave the hotel about 10.30am. Is it possible to PM on the forum? - can't remember. Can you give me your e-mail and mobile 'phone number?
Cheers, Phil

Thanks!
Regarding next year meeting, even if the proposal wasn't coming from me  , I would be pleased to organise it around Annecy.
I have already done this exercise with the TVR Car Club France in this area and in the Jura (where I come from), so I have roadbooks, nice hotels and restaurants.
The only missing part is the place to visit, with the TVR club the only purpose is to drive :D.
We just have to find a date and this is not the easiest thing.

Mince! Sounds as though I missed another cracker! If I can persuade my wife to come along, I would love to join you next year at Annecy .

Hmm, yes, the weather in Annecy in october is not the same as the south of France

I have posted about a hundred of Fred's photos on http://www.scimitarfrance.net/scimitarf ... ortie.html
When my server gets round to showing them you can have a look.

Hi, all. It looks like the Annecy suggestion is gathering momentum! Vincent, I personally wouldn't worry TOO much about finding a place to visit. The format for many years has been some sort of museum and then a vineyard, but I'm sure most of us won't mind if there's a change next year - quite the contrary. A change is as good as a rest, as they say! In the past we have aimed for sometime middle/end September. This year was later as Ros and I had to go back to the UK. Timing is really up to you, but you could ask Fred H his likely availability given that a farmer is at the mercy of the seasons!

Fait hâtivement avec la participation de Google (apparemment la SS1 de Charly et Giulia est ‘très intelligente’ :-D )

I particularly liked the translation of veterans (cars) as "former soldiers" (anciens combattants!).
