Classic Days 2018

Post by ginotonico5A » Sun Apr 29, 2018 1:33 pm

Bonjour Tous
Classic Magny-Cours weather, Saturday!
Cloudy and wet, but not as cold as some years, the rain got worse after lunch but it did not deter those queuing to get in.

Two Scimitars present SE6's from Patrice Beauchant and Robert Bonetto, unfortunately I did not get to speak to Robert.

Just a few pics attached including one of Oldconn's latest project, he will know what I mean.

Apologies for the picture quality but it was very wet, I should have chosen today Sunday as the meteo turned out to be the exact opposite of the forecast!.

John

YES dogs are allowed, even those in the pit lane!
More pics to follow if you want them.

Well done John, yes please more pics!
Two smart SE6a's very good representatives of the marque.
I think you should explain that oldconn's family name is Lambert ...

Sorry Oldconn your secret is out, but not a bad effort for 1948, the body work looks a though could have been salvaged from a B17 or B24

More pics as requested, one of BL's finest and one might be a quiz question?

The Porsche mechanics are refitting the wiper motor, needed this weekend!

A few more to follow later

Excellent, thanks John.
The blue car I do recognize but might be quite difficult as a quiz car.
Mind you there are a couple of serious clues in the photo ...
My favorite there is the Carrera 6 - and it seems to have a better wiper than the Rothmans car 8)

I think I've got the blue one as well. People who live over here have an advantage
How many can name the 'brake?

That's also easy for the french, but not for forriners.
Doesn't seem to have any visible clues either

It’s not that difficult - there aren’t that many French shooting brakes :-)

OK here are the last few with one or two that need answers (no one taken up the challenge so far) Oldconn & Darkstar may have to adjudicate.

The Cooper is my favourite.

Excellent reportage, thanks John.
The Cooper Bristol is rather nice but I fancy a couple of the mystery cars 8)
The red one is strangely high, they usually have about 3 cm ground clearance.
If none else tries I'm sure Jim will identify them all

PS the red one has actually been in the mystery car thread (though not in red).

OO-ER! The blue drop-head is new to me, but I'm guessing it's a D-B Panhard. For the red one, I'll go for Jide. :)

Ian, you're not supposed to participate, you are french.
You are correct, however :D
The other Panhard of course has Panhard written on it.
The first blue car no-one wants to try, there are at least two easy clues?
