metal thickness

Post by quantum34 » Thu Oct 17, 2019 11:50 pm

Hi need to replace the tin worm riddled plate on the chassis on the the front of my 76 se6.
The part I mean is the large flat sheet section attached under the area beneath the rack.
What thickness should this steel be repaired with?
Would stainless be ok to use here ?
Thanks in advance.

You could have problems welding stainless steel to mild steel. This will tell you more;
