Temp guage just stopped

Post by scimmy_man » Mon Jul 22, 2019 9:27 pm

just nipped out to post a parcel, nice night and the GTC needed fuel, all good except that 50 quid didnt move it to even half a tank,
all guages working, as I got home noticed the tempguage has stopped working, fuel guage still ok,
tried earthing the wire nothing,

anyone got a cunning plan?

Does the GTC use the Lucas regulator to "stabilise" the voltage to the two gauges? If so, it might be a dodgy connector in there somewhere?

My temp gauge stopped indicating on 8 ball recently - much easier to access the back of the gauge on a 5 but it was the sensor that had failed. Obviously if earthing the wire does nothing, it’s the gauge or wiring at fault so you need to get to the back of it.

If it’s the gauge you can have mine from tomorrow as I’ll be putting in the digital led 1. Am only 7 miles from you iirc
