wiring diagram se6a

ok esteemed forum moved a little further on with this - bonnet nuts sourced locally for a quid so that's done - all brake bleed nipples successfully opened and closed ready to replace the brake fluid, ran her up to temp and noticed the elec fan didn't come on - I have a Davies Craig electric water pump plus EWP controller ie a temp controller - pump's working fine so a wiring issue but as i fitted the thing over 10 years ago can't remember how i wired it in - so tracing the wiring i've come across 2 white with black tracers to which 1 of the controller wires is crimped into(at least it wasn't scotchloks!- trying to follow the white cables it goes across the front of the engine bay in the nose cone then i lose it somewhere near the battery / inner wing i've reviewed the wiring diagram but can't see where this wire terminates and would be ever so grateful if someone would enlighten me pretty please,,,,,

I would imagine it’s relayed? Should just be power out of the controller to the pump (which is earthed somewhere). Does the EWP controller switch the fan on or is it still on the original otter switch?

Probably would be much easier if all of this was in a project thread so you can refer back to it?

White/Black is normally/originally the power wire to he heated rear screen. Black/White is a brake failure wire.

Assuming that the water pump isn’t running constantly but is also controlled by the EWP controller, there should be two wires coming from it, so that at different temperatures the pump comes on, then the fan comes on later.

Are the black/white wires you’re talking about, original? Sounds more like the pump wiring that someone’s added.

The pump does work continuously ( initially I’d “disabled” as per their guide the mech pump) the black and white cables are defo original....

If it’s “original”, it’s not in its original position :D

So the EWP controller should turn the fan on but it doesn’t. What temp is it set to, to turn the fan on? You need to access the fan and see if this mystery wire goes to it, then see if you’re getting voltage when it’s up to temp and check you’ve got a good earth.

perhaps the heated rear screen switch was used as manual control for the fan

Why would you link an electric water pump controller into the brake warning system?

Much more likely that someone has re-purposed the wires.

All interesting ideas the loom is original I'm sure but agree when I installed it years ago I must have used the white/black cable for a reason. Mil has now returned to her lair so tomorrow I'll get to the bottom and report back
