Gte track rod end thread

Have you documented a Scimitar related procedure and would like to share it with others? Pictures are most welcome!

Gte track rod end thread

Recently purchased a pair of QH track rod ends advertised for a 5a. However upon receipt the thread was much coarser than my steering rack. Thus I cannot use them. Was there more than one thread type used?


Is we sideways yet...

I've been there, done that, sat in a box in garage, only place to get them sort of things rightare QRG and Walkers it seems

SE4c rebuilding. SE5a similar it seems!

Yerse mate, I've had trouble int' past wi' this. Mine turned out t' be M14 x 2.00mm pitch, Firstline FTR 4040. Some TREs have tapers too small but correct thread! Nightmare! Hope this helps, Crusty.

9/16 x 18tpi UNF for se5a.
Firstline FTR 4019, Quinton Hazell QR1153S, Motoquip VSS114.

M14 x 2.00 pitch on se6 onwards.
FIRSTLINE FTR4065, Quinten Hazell QR1556S, Motoquip VSS120.

As crusty says there are quite a few combinations that "Seem" to fit, but you must use the correct combination of Thread and taper, Brian`s turned out to be a Ford fitment, probably from an earlier rebuild as it`s a common misnomer that Scimitars use Ford running gear.
