About to change them on my MR2. As may well do some sprints next year plan to change callipers and discs,

What pads to people rate these days? Green stuff used to be good ,then got a bad name. Are they OKI now?

Best cold bite I've had so far have been carbon lorraine pads. No idea what's available for a MR2

Yellow Stuff is better than Green , which I find wear too quickly & prone to fade. Yellow seems to have taken their place.

Agree. I fitted yellow to our Sabre Sprint car and found them to be very good

Ian how old is your Mini?, I have a few sets left of the Old MINTEX M171 racing compound Asbestos free P114 pads. Mark

Used yellow stuffs for many years, the Lorraine pads where noticeably better imo

I’ve got Mintex 1144 in the SS1 and S2000 and really rate them. Work really well on the S2000 - with good cold manners, and in the SS1 I’ve only managed to trouble them at goodwood on the 2 lap practice - which is asking a lot of the little brakes anyway.

I know most moved away from green stuff - but haven’t heard what they are like now. We had the ‘original’ ones in Jim’s car are they were good.

Black diamond are excellent and normally pretty cheap, need barely any warm up and very hard to get them to fade on a vented disc set up, ran them on my last 3 road / targa rally cars without issue

I used Mintex 1144 pads in my Lotus Sunbeam and they were very good.

Mark, my Mini is a late one with 12 inch wheels - Not Cooper.

Had the Mintex 1144 on my SS1 and thought them very good.

For essentially a road car looks like yellow stuff or Black Diamond.
